BroadWeb's GNK awarded in IT-Month 2003, Taipei.

BroadWeb Cooperation announced today that its Intrusion Prevention System GNK (Giga NetKeeper, GNK 5000) has won the "Outstanding IT Applications/ Products Awards" of ITMonth 2003, Taipei.

The increasing of the network attacking recent year, from Code Red, MS SQL Slammer, to nowadays’ Blaster and SoBig, all of them use simple attack methods to make serious damage in a short time. In that case, the network intrusion prevention system becomes a must in the network security infrastructure.

Giga NetKeeper, which wins the award this time, is a real-time intrusion detection and prevention system. It is different from the traditional Intrusion Detection System. GNK will log and analyze all packets through network to detect and prevent attacks from Internet. GNK is also able to react to attacks in real-time to enhance the effectiveness of the network protection. This ability is very important to prevent DoS/ DDoS attacks.

The Active Intrusion Detection & Prevention, AIDP, requires large computing power to deal with the hi-speed traffic. Most software-based products are not able to deal with Gigabit Ethernet traffic. BroadWeb took advantages of hardware technology development of Gigabit Ethernet, and experienced expertise to ward off hackers’ intrusion to successfully develop the world first operating platform based on “Network Processor” technology. By reason of the excellent management system and innovation of IPS technology, Giga NetKeeper wins "Outstanding IT Applications/ Products Awards" of IT-Month 2003.

This is the third-streak time that BroadWeb wins the IT-Month awards after year 2001 BandKeeper won "Outstanding IT Applications/ Products Awards" and year 2002 General Manager won “Outstanding IT person”.
