Following the success of "Outstanding IT Applications/ Products Awards" of IT-Month 2003, BroadWeb’s Giga NetKeeper won another big award “Best Choice Award of COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2004.” this year.

 

Computex is the largest computer show in Asia and is also one of the 3 most important world leading computer exhibitions.  As recognition for Taiwan's IT innovation and assistance in Taiwan's IT companies' entrance into the international market, COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2004 is celebrating its 3rd annual of "Best Choice Award of COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2004".  The annual Best Choice of COMPUTEX TAIPEI award covers products from all Taiwan's main IT sectors through the awarding of 11 product categories.  From the 41 competitors of the category of “Innovative Technology of 3C Products”, BroadWeb’s Giga NetKeeper eventually won the Awards since its highly-techniques, most-innovative and the prospects of selling abroad. 

 

The increasing of the network attacking recent year, from last year’s Blaster and SoBig to nowadays Netsky, Mydoom, Beagal and Sasser, all of them use simple attack methods and easy-to-get tools to make serious damage in a very short time. In that case, the network intrusion prevention system becomes a must in the network security infrastructure.

 

Giga NetKeeper, which won the award this time, is a real-time intrusion detection and prevention system. It is different from the traditional Intrusion Detection System. GNK will log and analyze all packets through network to detect and prevent attacks from Internet. GNK is also able to react to attacks in real-time to enhance the effectiveness of the network protection. This ability of real-time protection is very important to prevent DoS/ DDoS attacks and other internet virus attacks.
